you told me to stay
yesterday, in the day
when the clouds went away
you said you'd be okay
and i could not say
that you were wrong in your ways
because you have been there
to care and understand
and shake my hand
when i said a command
like a solider in the land
when i was afraid
to parade
my soul as a whole
you took it out cold
and brought it to your face
in a loving embrace
running the race
one would take to face

but you have neglected
to water
the daughter
instead you did slaughter
devising a plot
or some evil thought
yet, i have to protect
her
